PCC Wine Class Reunion

P1040097

We may no longer meet for PCC Wine classes anymore but that doesn’t mean we can’t still get together every once in a while!

We are having a reunion Saturday, July 19 at Cana’s Feast. Assistant Winemaker Dan Duryee has offered to teach a class on the Cana’s Feast mission of producing Italian-style wines in pinot country.

We thought a POTLUCK was in order too so we can all visit with each other before class.

This Saturday’s Class

Our hosts at Amalie Robert asked us to post some information about the class this Saturday. Here goes…

Hello PCC Class,

We are looking forward to hosting your class here at the vineyard this Saturday the 7th from 10:00-12:00. We have come up with a program that will divide our time between the vineyard and the winery. Here is an outline of what we are thinking:

10:00: Arrive at the winery, bathroom breaks, grab a bottle of water and go.

10:15: Vineyard walking tour (remember comfortable shoes!) to see 5 varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Viognier.

11:00 Return to the winery to taste and discuss a sample wine from each variety. We would like to present 2 vintages of Pinot Noir to discuss and evaluate. Our choice is the 2009 vintage. You may choose another vintage to compare and contrast from 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2010.

12:00 Class dismissed.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone!

Kindest Regards,

Dena & Ernie

This Saturday at Amalie Robert

Be sure to join us this Saturday morning for the final class of the series. We’ll talk with Dena Drews and Ernie Pink, and will have a lovely tour of the vineyard while learning all about the  farming and winemaking process at Amalie Robert. You’ll want to wear appropriate shoes for a walk. The winery is located at 13531 Bursell Rd, Dallas, OR. This is a fair trek from Portland so allow plenty of time for the drive. This promises to be a fun and informative class. See you there.
